WalterFedy provided full architectural and engineering services, including design and construction administration, for the expansion and renovation of the Fischer Clinic (North Perth Family Health Team Clinic) in Listowel, Ontario. First opened in 2012, the clinic supports an integrated care model and is located near Listowel Memorial Hospital. With growing demand and anticipated population growth, the project adds much-needed clinical and administrative space through a thoughtfully phased approach.

The expansion includes a two-storey addition totaling 10,065 SF, along with 1,647 SF of interior renovations.
Designed as an ambulatory care clinic in accordance with CSA Z8000, the addition introduces:
– 16 exam rooms across both floors
– 2 new team stations with adjacent support spaces
– 9 offices
– An expanded business and administration centre
– Barrier-free washrooms for staff and patients

In addition to architectural upgrades, the project includes major mechanical improvements: replacement and addition of new HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, and heating/cooling equipment serving the two-storey north and east patient wings, along with administrative and clinical support areas.
To align with evolving funding availability and operational needs, the work was initially developed as a comprehensive master plan. As funding was confirmed over time, the HVAC scope was strategically divided into targeted bid packages—allowing critical upgrades to move forward quickly while maintaining the overall goal of completing the new systems within a three-year window. Throughout delivery, maintaining continuous service to active hospital areas and minimizing disruption remained a central priority.
