WalterFedy provided architecture, full-service engineering, and project management for the construction of a new $16.8 million, 50,000 SF office facility in Chatham, Ontario. This innovative facility contains office space for over 220 IT and information systems professionals that support Union Gas storage, transmission, and distribution operations.
As part of the design process, design charrettes with key team members of the Bloomfield facility were completed in order to develop and understand the critical success factors for the project as well as the goals of Union Gas. In surveys conducted, staff identified key features including: maximizing natural lighting, the need for a more collaborative working environment, and a program that would allow for enhanced workspace choice by providing spaces for concentrated ‘heads-down’ work, team project meeting rooms, and breakout rooms.
