WalterFedy was retained by Defence Construction Canada to provide architecture and engineering services for improvements to the fire hall at the Canadian Forces Base in Borden, Ontario.
This project included renovations to and construction of a classroom and office extension on the north-east side of the existing facility, as well as an extension to two vehicle bays on the south-west side of the building to accommodate the growing number of staff using the facility, as well as larger trucks in the vehicle bays.
Our scope of work included design of the facility, being sensitive to integrate the new building elements with the design of the existing building; modifications to the existing exterior utilities in the immediate are of the new additions, including relocation of main utility lines; and conformance to specific DCC and CFB Borden site criteria.
