The Annex rejuvenation project at Enbridge’s corporate head office included complete renovation of 47,000 SF of office space and 21,000 SF of the Meter Accreditation Lab at a construction cost of $12.2 million. The office space included a combination of private offices, workstations, dynamic workstations, meeting rooms, and amenity spaces. The Annex office space accommodates 350 workstations, with an average of 135 SF per person, including all amenities and the corporate records storage area. The design of the office space balanced the benefits of a reduction in real estate costs delivered by the reduced area per person, and improvement to the quality of the office environment. The increased density was made possible by a detailed study of staff workstation requirements, which resulted in the inclusion of 158 dynamic workstations in the space.
