Role At a Glance

Reporting to the Structural Engineering Team Leader, the Intermediate Structural Technologist is primarily responsible for producing high-quality construction documents for a broad range of healthcare, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.  This role can lead to future opportunities and advancement within the company including project management roles for candidates with demonstrated abilities and desire.

What You Will Do

  • Create and manage structural BIM models.

  • Prepare construction documents and specifications under the direction and mentorship of structural engineers and senior technologists.

  • Generate accurate structural plans and details using your knowledge of construction techniques, record drawings, drawing mark-ups, and instructions provided by architects and engineers.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and team members, including in-house integrated teams and external consultants.

  • Deliver work to high-quality standards and meet project deadlines.
    Take ownership of your own work – accuracy, quality, deadlines, and communication.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Architecture/Construction or Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM modelling or drafting of structural engineering projects.
    Excellent working knowledge of structural drafting with Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Good understanding of Ontario/Canadian building construction and basic building systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work and meet strict deadlines.
