Role At a Glance

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator is the contact for employees and their leaders for inquiries related to HR administration, policy, and programs. 

This is a key role in the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting most HR programs including recruitment, training, compensation, performance, and employee relations. You will be responsible to maintain the Dayforce system, guiding employees and their leaders through the HR system, and making recommendations for enhancements as required.  The successful candidate will ensure a positive employee experience through changes to their employment, and in ensuring these changes are executed seamlessly.

This opportunity is suited for an individual who is interested in ensuring processes and systems are working effectively and who has an eye for detail. Your understanding of the importance of confidentiality will ensure you are a trusted team player who will help to find solutions diplomatically. The ideal candidate is one who will independently administer the HR system and work in a team environment to assist other HR team members as required.  


This is a contract position for a term of eight months with the potential to extend based on operational needs.

What You Will Do

  • Administer employee onboarding, transfers, separation, changes in job classification, and participate in new hire orientation
  • Organize and maintain all employee records in Dayforce system including setting up new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, tracking vacation, sick and personal time, assets issued to employees, inventory tracking etc.
  • Support leaders and HR team with the Dayforce system, researching opportunities for improvement, assist with running and analyzing reports, and conducting periodic audits for system accuracy
  • Prepare HR documents issued to employees (e.g. employment letters, notice of change letters, etc)
  • Administer and create reports on regular HR metrics (e.g., turn-over rates, overtime, exit interview analysis, benefit entitlement, credential tracking, etc.)
  • Respond to queries about HR policies, programs and procedures, providing day-to-day HR guidance to all across the organization
  • Support and assist in implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs, and act as a first point of contact in employee relation matters and/or queries concerning policies.
  • Liaise with internal departments including payroll, IT, and operations as needed to coordinate employee changes (e.g.  new hires, LOA's, sick days, Exit information etc.)
  • Administer benefits programs by advising employees of eligibility, providing application information, assisting with form completion, verifying submission, payroll coordination etc.
  • Assist with claim management and maintenance for all Leave of Absences for employees
  • Other related duties, as required


What You Bring to the Table

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to act with discretion and confidentiality
  • Displays versatility in dealing with employees and leaders to help in problem-solving and finding solutions
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and supporting applications
  • Experience working with an HRIS system. Previous experience with Dayforce is an asset
  • Ability to work in an environment with multiple priorities
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in human resources
  • Previous experience in consulting or a consulting industry would be an asset
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • CHRP designation is an asset
