Role Overview

The Structural EIT will work with mentorship from Intermediate and Senior Engineers within the structural team. This position focuses on the structural design and calculation of projects which will include working with Structural analysis and design software as well as Revit. You will be responsible for working directly with clients to ensure their needs are met and coordinating with other design disciplines as required. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting local projects. Examples of projects that we are really proud to have in our portfolio include the Waterloo Region Museum, Conestoga College North Campus Expansion, and Maple Leaf Foods – London Poultry processing facility.

What You Will Do
  • Co-ordinate the structural work with other design disciplines involved in each project
  • Assist with investigative engineering work
  • Assist in the design of Institutional, Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Healthcare structures
  • Maintain department analysis and design software programs
  • Assist in preparation of drawings
  • Works directly with the clients under guidance as required
 
What We Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
  • Eligible to become a registered Engineering-in-Training (EIT) through PEO
  • Co-op/internship experience in an engineering consulting firm
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Experience with ETABS, Safe, Risa, and Revit software is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Working Conditions and Safety 

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and some overtime hours may be required from time to time. The ability to travel away from the office is required to assist and attend on-site project meetings.

In this role, you will work within the company safety policies and procedures, and adhere to any applicable federal or provincial legislation.
