WalterFedy is seeking an outstanding Architectural Technologist to work with our integrated team in developing architectural design services and solutions. In this role you will be working closely with several architects on various projects as part of our Architectural team.
You will provide your technical expertise to our architecture and engineering team members through the entire project cycle to contribute to the design and construction of award-winning buildings for our clients.
**This role is open to applicants interested in working at any one of our locations in Kitchener, Hamilton or Toronto **
Apply knowledge of codes, standards and construction technology to solve specific design problems and implement solutions
Determine survey requirements for existing building conditions and plan effective gathering of information of existing measurements, equipment and services
Responsible for accuracy and completeness of information
Develop drawings from rough architectural sketches, being able to fill in the detail in the sprint of the design
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of architectural systems
Review of shop drawings related to the fabrication of construction elements for accuracy
Team orientated and collaborative, willing to mentor junior team members
Knowledge of architectural principles, methods and practices
Comprehensive knowledge of design, specifications, construction and contracting techniques
Familiarity with construction related standards
Excellent drafting and graphic presentation skills in Revit.
Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, be flexible, and shift priorities as needed to deal with demands of changed conditions
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Diploma in Architectural Technology and/or registration with/eligible for OAAAS/OACETT is considered an asset
