Role At a Glance 
 

Reporting to the Controller the Junior Accountant role is part of the Accounting team and will be primarily responsible for general accounting duties.  These duties may include but are not limited to:  accounts payable, invoicing, monthly reconciliations, remittances and schedules.

What Will You Do  

  • Support Project Managers by completing the billing process: producing draft invoices, final invoices and preparing project detail reports and construction payment release documentation
  • Enter and Review Accounts Payable invoices, including employee expenses and credit card allocations
  • Assist in the preparation  of cash flow statements
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation for multiple accounts
  • Update and maintain prepaid asset and amortization schedules
  • Prepare HST remittances
  • Support period end and year end closing processes and assist with financial reporting.
  • Assists with any other special projects and Ad-hoc analysis

  

What You Bring to the Table 

  • Accounting diploma or degree is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 2 years of accounting experience (New grads are welcome to apply)
  • Working toward professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to collect and analyze data and trends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Meticulous and accurate data entry and proofreading skills 
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, with experience in spreadsheet development and maintenance
  • Experience working with Deltek Vision, Vista by Viewpoint, and ProCore is considered an asset 
  • Experience in a consulting industry is an asset (Architecture, Engineering, Construction)
