Role At a Glance

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the business. The successful candidate will attract and retain top talent by working with business leaders to design and develop job descriptions, talent attraction strategies and providing end-to-end recruitment support. This opportunity is suited for an individual who is passionate about collaboration and filling challenging, specialized roles.  
You will contribute to the strategies and vision of WalterFedy, while being a team player and strong contributor to the Human Resources team. The ideal candidate is one who can effectively build relationships with job seekers, business leaders and departments at various levels.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with leaders across the business to identify needs within their teams, and build and design recruitment strategies
  • Act as a knowledge expert to consult with business leaders in the areas of talent attraction, selection, onboarding and retention
  • Manage the full-cycle (end-to-end) recruitment process for all hires
  • Lead strategy, attraction and recruitment of all Co-op Student placements
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with both internal and external customers, including job seekers, hiring leaders, third-party recruiters and industry-specific associations
  • Proactively identify and make enhancements to current recruitment practices and procedures 
  • Support HR team initiatives and employee engagement programs

What You Bring to the Table

  • Strong relationship building and partnering skills, and experience providing consultative talent acquisition support to an internal team 
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (Dayforce is an asset)
  • Prior recruitment experience in the architectural/engineering/construction management industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of program management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities to achieve objectives
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and supporting applications
  • Ability to work in an environment with multiple priorities
  • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition/recruitment
  • Post-secondary degree
