INTERMEDIATE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Role at a Glance

Reporting to the Structural Engineering Team Leader, this position focuses on the structural analysis and design of projects which will include working with various structural design software as well as Revit. You will be responsible for working directly with clients to ensure their needs are met and coordinating with other design disciplines as required.

What You Will Do

• Work as a key member of our outstanding team of experienced engineers.
• Complete structural design of elements and buildings to support various exciting projects.
• Coordinate the structural work with other disciplines and team members, including in-house integrated teams and external consultants.
• Assist in the design of institutional, commercial, industrial, residential, and healthcare structures.
• Generate drawing markups for technologists to assist in the preparation of drawings.
• Visits sites for general reviews of structural work for new construction or for preparation of structural assessments of existing buildings.
• Deliver work to high-quality standards and meet project deadlines.
• Take ownership of your own work – accuracy, quality, deadlines, and communication.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering would be considered an asset.
• Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the PEO or registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT).
• Previous structural work experience.
• Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Experience with structural design software (such as ETABS, Safe, Risa, Revit) is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Working Conditions and Safety

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and some occasional overtime hours may be required from time to time. Ability to travel away from the office may be required to attend on-site project meetings.
 

In this role, you will work within the company safety policies and procedures and adhere to any applicable federal or provincial legislation.
