Role Overview

The Junior EIT will work under the supervision of the Intermediate and Senior Engineers within the mechanical practice. This position focuses on developing mechanical engineering designs and solutions for new and existing building projects. You will be responsible for working directly with clients to ensure their needs are understood and met. You will also be responsible for coordinating with other internal and external design team members as applicable.

 

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting local projects. Examples of projects that we are really proud to have in our portfolio include the Conestoga College Cambridge Campus, uWaterloo Environment 3 Building, Waterloo Region Museum, and the Kitchener Public Library expansion.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for design and calculations of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and controls for mid-sized projects
  • Assist with heating and cooling load, piping and ductwork calculations and layouts coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other design disciplines
  • Prepare specifications to supplement drawings in project bid packages
  • Support field reviews and answer coordination questions throughout construction
  • Assist in preparation of Revit models and drawings
  • Work directly with the customers under guidance as required

 

 
What We Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics is an asset
  • Eligible to become a registered Engineering-in-Training (EIT) through PEO
  • Co-op/internship experience in an engineering consulting firm
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
