Role At A Glance
 

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for leading essential financial functions including accounts payable, invoicing, monthly reconciliations, financial statement preparation, remittances, and schedules, across multiple departments and business functions.
 

This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys collaborating with their peers to offer data-driven insights, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing thoughtful process enhancements.

What Will You Do

  • Perform full cycle accounting for the construction brand including accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Support Project Managers by providing project reports and assistance through the billing process including producing final invoices and preparing construction payment release documentation
  • Produce cash flow statements
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation for multiple accounts
  • Maintain corporate related documents (insurance and lease agreements)
  • Update and maintain prepaid asset and amortization schedules
  • Prepare HST remittances
  • Provide support for Accounts Payable and Receivables
  • Support period end and year end closing processes, and work closely with external auditors
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
  • Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
  • Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and project variance analysis
  • Assist in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, CPA preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience. Experience in a consulting industry is preferred (Architecture, Engineering, Construction)
  • Experience mentoring/leading a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Meticulous and accurate data entry and proofreading skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas and functions) and Word
  • Experience working with Deltek Vision, Vista by Viewpoint, and ProCore is considered an asset
