IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Role At a Glance

Reporting to the Team Leader, Enterprise Technology, you will be tasked with installing, testing, and maintaining a variety of hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate manages time effectively, takes a service-minded approach to solving problems, and collaborates well in a team environment. The IT Support Specialist will be exposed to a wide variety of new technologies, interesting challenges, and a learning environment that will expand their skills and grow their knowledge in the field.

What You Will Do

• Provide remote and on-site technical support to all the internal departments and staff for all our IT hardware and software products
• Provide consistent service to clients to create relationships of dependability and trust
• Take responsibility for all assigned service requests
• Troubleshoot and manage a wide array of hardware and network devices
• Work with SharePoint, Power Apps and the Microsoft Stack 
• Be able to build, troubleshoot and repair a standard desktop computer
• Management of workstations, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and providing AIO support
• Provide installation and upgrade support
• Provide some after-hours support and maintenance as required (primary hours of work will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday)

What You Bring to the Table

• College diploma or University degree in a computer-related field
• A fast and eager learner, willing to learn on the job, and adapt and solve new problems
• Ability to troubleshoot and discover solutions for a wide variety of software and hardware problems
• Knowledge in Windows OS installation, imaging, customizing and deployment
• Microsoft 365 environment experience – Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
• Experience with ticketing systems, remote management software, and cloud-based management applications
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+
• Microsoft certification is considered an asset 
• Nice to have: Exchange Server, SharePoint, SQL, VMware, NAS technologies knowledge, Cloud services (Azure)
• Knowledge of the following would be beneficial:
• Active Directory/Group Policy Administration
• Windows Server OS
• Wireless LAN, Modems, Routers and Firewalls
• Network Services/Protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN)
• Backup Applications, including monitoring and management (Veeam and Windows Server Backup)
