Role At A Glance

By combining your stellar writing, communication, and project management skills with your ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, you will build winning proposals and support corporate marketing activities. The Specialist leads the proposal pursuit process from start to finish including searching for bids, developing winning pursuit strategies, creating written and graphic content, and submitting the final product. You will also support the marketing team to ensure all external-facing materials are kept relevant and current, including writing and editing CVs and project profiles, creating marketing packages, designing graphics and layouts, writing blogs, and preparing presentations.

What You Will Do

  • You’ll be fully immersed in all aspects of the proposal process including reviewing request for proposal (RFP) documents, leading strategy meetings, and leading a team of internal experts to prepare, write, and edit proposal responses including methodology, approach, team and project profiles, and schedules.  
  • Prepare proposals that will pique the reader’s interest through strong content complemented by your excellent design.  
  • Review final proposal documents for compliance and submit to clients on deadline. 
  • Scan public tendering sites for RFPs and related opportunities aligned with the firm’s portfolio for the technical team to review.  
  • Provide quality assurance checks for proposals and marketing materials created by team members.  
  • Create presentations to support our pursuit team during the project interview process.  
  • Provide marketing support and assistance to the sales team in their pursuit of new business.  
  • Maintain and update project descriptions, corporate/department profiles, CVs and bios for technical staff, a library of technical writeups, and our photography database. 
  • Develop eye-catching layouts and templates for external-facing collateral, such as marketing packages, signage, recruitment briefs, and one-pagers.  
  • Other marketing duties as needed to support our team. 

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proposal management experience in any industry (experience within the construction, architecture, and/or engineering industries would be great, but isn’t necessary).  
  • Strong writing and editing skills (we love a good word nerd on our team).  
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a strong asset.   
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, time management, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where meeting deadlines is critical.  
  • College or university degree/diploma in writing, journalism, communications, marketing, or any other related field.
