This role will provide you with an opportunity to develop as an Intermediate Civil CAD Designer while also allowing you to work towards developing a unique skill set as an expert in integrated design.


Role Overview

The Intermediate Civil CAD Designer is responsible for the development and preparation of engineering design and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil3D, as well as writing technical reports, and ensuring design drawings conform to specifications and design data.


What You Will Do
  • Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
  • Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, or layouts from sketches using CAD and Civil 3D for land, site and municipal road projects.
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
What We Need
  • Graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role (including co-op experience).
  • Previous experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Registered with OACETT or PEO would be preferred.
  • Above-average experience and knowledge of Civil 3D.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction and correspondence with the design team and customers.
  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges, with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed.

Working Conditions and Safety

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and some overtime hours may be required from time to time. The ability to travel away from the office is required to assist and attend on-site project meetings.

In this role, you will work within the company safety policies and procedures, and adhere to any applicable federal or provincial legislation.
