Role At a Glance

The Civil Designer is responsible for the development and preparation of engineering designs for land, municipal and site development projects, utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D, and ensuring design drawings conform to specifications and design data. Some technical writing may be required.

**This role is open to applicants interested in working out of our Hamilton office**

What You Will Do

  • Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
  • Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, or layouts from sketches using CAD and Civil 3D for land, site, and municipal road projects.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role (including co-op experience)
  • Previous experience working in a consulting engineering environment
  • Registered with OACETT or PEO would be preferred
  • Previous experience in wastewater engineering would be an asset
  • Above average experience and knowledge of Civil 3D
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges, with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed
