This role will provide you with an opportunity to develop as an Architect and will also allow you to work towards developing a unique skill set as an expert in integrated design.

Role Overview

The Architect will be involved in a wide variety of projects and will have the opportunity to apply their technical expertise in a variety of areas and take part in all stages of project delivery for a wide range of exciting, innovative projects. You will be responsible for working directly with clients to ensure their needs are understood and met and coordinating with other internal and external design team members as applicable. Applicants should have a minimum of 10 years of experience delivering quality institutional and commercial projects and enjoy working in a collaborative project team environment.

What We Need

  • Registered or eligible to be registered with OAA
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in industry, with preference given to candidates with a strong understanding of the North American architectural market
  • Talented designer in the fields of Institutional and Commercial facilities
  • Ability to define and execute project requirements
  • Ability to manage customers, design staff & technical staff for multiple projects
  • Proven detailing knowledge
  • Proven experience in sustainable design
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing Masters degree in Architecture

What You Will Do

  • Develop exceptional building designs based on project parameters.
  • Produce written scopes of work for architectural designs based on initial project information and customer meetings.
  • Analyze project objectives and desired outcomes in order to develop cost effective task plans to complete work on time and within budget.
  • Apply knowledge of applicable building codes and work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation to building codes is required.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports and presentations at design milestones.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion.
  • Review construction budgets.
  • Provide review through construction and collaborate with all partners to issue instructions and changes as required.
  • Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.
  • Participate in the expansion of business/client base through direct marketing activities.
