Role Overview

You will focus on leading the energy management projects of various size and scope on a fully integrated team. Your role will include developing the scope of work, managing the schedule and resourcing, managing engineering budgets, and leading the technical direction of the project. It will involve coordinating with team members across disciplines and include corresponding directly with clients, sub-consultants, and suppliers, performing engineering calculations and preparing and reviewing technical reports. This role will focus on across many sectors including commercial, industrial, healthcare, post-secondary education, etc.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and communicate with clients on scope and development of a project.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other design disciplines.
  • Perform site surveys and site assessments to identify energy opportunities.
  • Provide detailed capital cost estimates.
  • Execute energy conservation projects including (but not limited to) utility analysis, benchmarking, funding application preparation, analysis of energy conservation measures, budgeting and report writing.
  • Complete technical analysis and preparation of corresponding reports.
  • Coordinating and transitioning projects from opportunity, analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Brainstorm recent and coming trends in the energy industry and where to strategically pursue opportunities.
  • Perform quality control and technical review for energy conservation deliverables.
  • Provide leadership to junior analysts and engineers and foster knowledge sharing through technical training.
  • Perform analysis including energy modeling and economic viability of capital intensive measures.
  • Depending on your strengths and interests, this role may include business development opportunities.

What We Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing mechanical systems for projects pertaining to healthcare, institutional, commercial and/or industrial sector.
  • Licensed member of PEO (P.Eng) or eligible for licensure.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, Net-Zero, Renewable Energy, and other relevant codes and topics.

Working Conditions and Safety

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and some overtime hours may be required from time to time. Ability to travel away from the office is required to assist and attend on-site project meetings.

In this role, you will work within the company safety policies and procedures, and adhere to any applicable federal or provincial legislation.
