Senior Civil Engineer/Designer

WalterFedy’s Civil Engineering Division is seeking a Senior Designer to be a part of our growing team. We have a wide variety of projects that we are excited to be a part of, including P3 projects, site development, and subdivisions and municipal work.

Role Overview

The Senior Designer is responsible for leading technical design, assisting in business development, pursuing new projects, mentoring and training junior staff, and enhancing the capabilities of the Civil team.

What We Need 

  • Civil Engineering Degree and minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • Previous experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Water distribution modeling and sanitary pump station design experience.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • AutoCAD experience, including Civil 3D an asset.
  • Designation as a P.Eng. in Ontario.
  • Self-motivated/team player.
  • Disciplined work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team committing to delivery of exceptional product in agreed upon timelines.
  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges, with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed.

What You Will Do

  • Technical design and management of documents and drawings for site, land, and municipal development projects.
  • Grading, servicing, plan/profile design, water distribution modeling, waste water engineering, and transportation noise studies.
  • Preparation of design reports and construction documents.
  • Act as Design Engineer on projects and perform peer reviews and quality checks.
  • Coordinate and communicate with design team, owners, clients, and approval authorities.
  • Management of field review activities and final certification of various land, municipal, and site development projects.
  • Negotiation of permits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
