INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST

Role at a Glance

WalterFedy is seeking an outstanding Intermediate Architectural Technologist to work with our integrated team in developing architectural design services and solutions. As a member of our multi-disciplinary Industrial team, your role will be to lead the production of architectural drawings and Revit models.  You will provide your technical expertise through the entire project cycle to contribute to the fast-paced delivery model that is required and valued by our industrial clients.

Our Industrial team regularly works with large manufacturers focused on automotive, pharmaceutical, and food manufacturing.  In the Industrial space, practical solutions and responsive, quick turnaround are deeply valued by our clients – this role will understand and support these client objectives.

What You Will Do

• Develop architectural drawings and Revit models from rough architectural/client sketches, being able to fill in the details in the spirit of the design
• Determine survey requirements for existing building conditions and plan effective gathering of information of existing measurements, equipment and services
• Apply knowledge of codes, standards and construction technology to solve specific design problems and implement solutions
• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of information
• Display a sound knowledge of architectural systems
• Review of shop drawings related to the fabrication of construction elements for accuracy

What You Bring to the Table   

• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, be flexible, and shift priorities as needed to deal with demands of changing conditions
• Knowledge of architectural principles, methods, and practices
• Excellent modelling and graphic presentation skills in Revit and AutoCad
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Completion of a Diploma in Architectural Technology, and/or registered or eligible for registration with OAAAS/OACETT would be considered an asset
• 3-5 years experience working in a consulting environment would be ideal
