Role At a Glance
 

The Intern Architect will work collaboratively within our Integrated Design Studio on all aspects of project delivery with the goal of presenting innovative, architecturally excellent projects to our customers and our community. A strong, demonstrated passion for excellence in healthcare design is a key element in this role as an Intern Architect.

This role is open to candidates wanting to work out of either the Hamilton or Toronto offices.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with Project Architect through the development of design concepts
  • Prepare architectural presentation documents
  • Research building science, sustainable design and design solutions related to project work
  • Provide building code and zoning bylaw research and support
  • Prepare contract documents in collaboration with the design studio

What You Bring to the Table

  • Registered, or eligible to register as an Intern Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA)
  • Professional Degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 2 years of architectural office experience (including co-op experience); a demonstrated focus on Healthcare Design is an asset
  • Self-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects with an interest in growing with the firm
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate efforts on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong skills in creative design solutions, innovation, and research
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, building systems and materials
  • Strong working knowledge of current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Max, Sketch-up, CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
